2. Introduction to solar home system

 solar home system (SHS) is a system that uses sunlight to generate electricity for a home. SHS can power a variety of household appliances, including lights, TVs, computers, and washing machines. 

  • Solar panels
    The core of a SHS, solar panels are made of photovoltaic (PV) cells that absorb sunlight and convert it to DC electricity. 
     
     
  • Inverter
    Converts DC electricity to AC electricity, which is needed to power homes and appliances. 
     
     
  • Battery
    Stores energy to meet electricity demand when the sun isn't shining or on cloudy days. 
     
     
  • Charge controller
    Regulates the voltage for the system batteries and protects them and appliances from damage.
